The Hills District Muslim Society has expressed an intention to build a 24/7 commercial mosque on the 2.5 hectare site of 1 Larapinta Place, Glenhaven.
Given the current publically available information, the Hills District Muslim Society intent is to build a 24/7 commercial mosque, prayer hall, community centre and training facility at the above address. Please see the following links.
We strongly believe that this site is not suitable for a development of this magnitude. We liken to the scale of the intended development to a startup Hillsong Church. Most importantly Hillsong has established themselves in area namely Norwest Business Park where:-
The site at 1 Larapinta Place Glenhaven is an area with inadequate road infrastructure and non-existent on street parking.
We came to Glenhaven 11 years ago to retire to pleasant semi quiet area overlooking a bush setting in Mills Road within the Hills District with easy access to Castle Hill. Over the last 6 years and since the development of Kellyville the traffic along Glenhaven Road has become extremely busy and in the peak period it has become almost impossible to enter Glenhaven Road from Mills Road. As the volume of traffic increases and the prospect of the road becoming 4 lanes the access from Mills Road will become worse. We certainly do not require another 400 to 500 cars from Larapinta Place adding to the congestion and noise. We are not impressed with the project and totally reject the application.
