This week 7/12/17

Next Meeting

The committee wishes to remind you that our next community meeting will be held on;
Monday 11th December 2017 - 6:30pm sharp At Entrata Restaurant and Bar (143 Glenhaven Rd, Glenhaven).
We have chosen this time to allow for Hills Shire councillors to attend. Please feel welcome to invite like-minded family, neighbors and friends. We understand that everyone is busy at this time of year, so we will endeavor to keep this meeting as short as possible. We will be opening the meeting to the floor for all of you to have your say. Please bring your concerns and feel free to voice these at the meeting. The meeting will be followed by Friends of Glenhaven Christmas Drinks. Drinks for this occasion have been generously donated by a member of our community. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you all there.
The committee greatly value your opinions and suggestions. If you have an idea, if you have heard something out whilst you are out and about in the community, please let us know. We don’t necessarily hear about everything that is going on, or may not be privy to certain information that may prove useful. So please keep this in mind when you are out and about.
Please spread the word. Tell your likeminded friends and family who Friends of Glenhaven are. Tell them what is intended by Hills District Muslim Society. Encourage them to our next community meeting. It is important that everyone knows what is intended!

Settlement of 1 Larapinta Place, Glenhaven

An update on 1 Larapinta Place Glenhaven. This will be discussed in further detail at Mondays meeting (11th December) Briefly; Monday 20th November 2017 saw The Hills District Muslim Society settle on 1 Larapinta Place, Glenhaven. They now legally own the property. There has been activity at the property both day and night. The Hills District Muslim Society have been in contact with The Hills Shire Council.
We cannot stress how real this is.

Chairpersons Message

Friends of Glenhaven Incorporated was formed earlier this year by several concerned Glenhaven residents. All had different concerns over different issues. We are not a single-issue association.
We are a platform for residents to be heard. We are here to help. We are your voice.
In the short time that we have been around, we have achieved an enormous amount. I would like to congratulate the committee on their efforts.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to you all. Thank you for assisting with surveys. Thank you for spreading the word. Thank you for handing out flyers. Thank you for lobbying council and local members. Without you, this association simply would not exist.
On behalf of The Friends of Glenhaven Committee, I would like to thank you for your support over the last few months. May this association continue for many years to come.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and look forward to working with you all next year.
I would like to leave you with a quote by Helen Keller. “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much”

Surveys

For the last few months we have had teams of volunteers who have been door knocking houses in Glenhaven and surrounding suburbs. Volunteers have been explaining to residents what has been intended by the Hills District Muslim Society. At this time residents are asked to fill out a survey if they so choose. If you have not filled out a survey, please contact us at friendsofglenhaven@gmail.com for further information.

If you have a few spare hours to assist with door knocking in the Castle Hill/Kellyville area, please let us know. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Out and About

The committee greatly value your opinions and suggestions. If you have an idea, if you have heard something out whilst you are out and about in the community, please let us know. We don’t necessarily hear about everything that is going on, or may not be privy to certain information that may prove useful. So please keep this in mind when you are out and about.
